    Dear SM’s: I had my drop down menu’s working perfect. At work we are constantly adding security — which may be the cause of problem I’m having.

    Problem: .On one computer we have old Explorer 9.0 and Firefox 15.0. When I hover over a menu I get the error

    “SCRIPT5007: Unable to get value of the property ‘parentNode’: object is null

    This system is internal but I have as screen shot which I would like to attach. Can we attach images to our posting?

    In the Javascript debugger I see error occurs at:

    (i=i.parentNode.parentNode)!=this$jroot[0];)

    Note, in my location I use an alias for jquery because we are using prototype.

    Has anyone seen this type of error or know if a security setting in a browser will prevent menu’s from working?

    Thank You,
    Max

    Hi Max,

    You cannot upload images directly here, you will need to upload to some image hosting site and then link them here. But, unfortunately, I doubt it would help very much if you just post a screenshot. That kind of error might be caused by many issues like invalid menu tree HTML structure (incorrectly nested tags, etc.), some JavaScript conflict, etc. So it’s really difficult to guess what exactly might be causing this without being able to test a live demo. So, if possible, please try to prepare some sort of test page that demonstrates the issue (I understand it would be impossible to test the real solution).

    Thanks!
